As is the use of a pond in a place flooded with water everywhere, so is that of all the Vedas for the Brahmin who understands.—-Chapter 2, Solaka46.
Comments; Who has realized the Self he has no need to study the scriptures. Vedas are our guidelines, when we understand sat-chit-Ananda (Bills) then there is no need of Vedas (Scriptures). We were reading to understand. As we read a book for driving rules. But when we got driving licence then we do not need it and can drive everywhere. Meaning after Self realization we do not want the help of Vadas.
As when the river is flooded we do not take the help of a pond for water. This is the meaning of this solace.
He who knows that it is indestructible and eternal, uncreated and unchanging. how such a person slay anyone, O Partha (Arjuna), or cause anyone to slay?
Comments; By practicing according to instructions of a real guru and by Grace of the lord one can find his self which is beyond of pleasure and pain. This is called self-realization or Nirvana. In this stage, it is possible to understand this solaka. according to Vedanta, our body is the combination of two elements spirit and matter. This physical part of the body we consider as ‘I’ but our consciousness is part of the spirit which is real. When one takes the experience of it then he knows the fact.
Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2,Solaka22.
Just as a person casts off worn-out garments and puts on others that are new , even so, does the embodied soul cast off worn-out bodies and take on others that are new.
Comments; The eternal soul does not move from place to place but the embodied soul moves from one abode to another.it takes birth each time and gathers to itself a mind. Life and body formed out of the materials of nature according to its past evolution and its need for the future. the psychic being is the vijnana which supports the triple manifestation of the body anna , life ( prana) and mind ( manas). When the gross physical body falls away, the vital and mental sheaths still remain as the vehicle of the soul. Rebirth is a law of nature. There is an objective connection between the various forms of life. Like corn, a mortal ripens and like corn is he born again.
