Silence

Of course ,every teacher and every book tells the aspirant to keep quite. But it is not easy to do so. that is why all this effort is necessary. even if we find somebody who has achieved this supreme state of stillness ,you must take it that necessary effort has been take in previous life. see what helped you to keep out of thoughts and adopt that for meditation.—- Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; it is very hard to be silent . meaning stillness of mind. according to maharishi it is very hard because we are too much attached to worldly affairs. if any time you tried it looks very hard. only our effort is necessary for this purpose. if you see anybody who has this quality you should think that he has done this practice in his previous life. because our real nature which is bliss ,which we can not say in languages but it comes in the absence of thoughts.

SELF-INQUIRY. ( according to Maharishi Ramana)

The result o self-inquiry is the care for all sorrows.it is highest of all results. self-inquiry itself is most meritorious and purifying.—- Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; what is our destination of an human life? we want to got bliss which is our real nature. it is inside in your heart not outside. you may be rich you may be poor, you may have lots of luxuries, but you never satisfied by fame by sex, because we want to touch our inner being which we are! but we does not know ‘ WHO AM I’ ? for this self- inquiry should be practice. I wrote so many posts who we can do it? but no body can do it for anybody only you can do yourself.

Ahamvritti

The search for the source of ahamvritti ( ego) is not merely the search for the basis for one of the forms of ego, but for the very source from which arises the ‘I’ – am-ness.—Maharishi Ramana.

Comment by Swami Amarjit Singh; Ahamviritti meaning place of ego in us. First of all ‘I’ comes in mind this I ness Called ahamvritti. It is the mother thought of all thoughts. according to maharishi Ramana if we search this very place which is self- inquiry then we can find the source which is bliss.

Effort for meditation

Effort is necessary for upto the stage of realiation . even then the self should spontaneously become evidence. otherwise happiness would not be complete. upto the stage of spontaneously there must be effort, in some form or other.——– Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; Maharishi Ramana told us from his direct knowledge of Samadhi that when we do practice of observation sometime first you got the experince of sa- vikalpa Samadhi . but it is not liberation, you have reached near but yet it is incomllete . so your effort should be carry on upto your satisfaction.

The ego

The ego submits only when it recognize the higher power. such a recognition is surrender or submission. otherwise ego remains stuck up like an image carved on a tower ,making carved on the tower. making a pretense by its strained look and posture that it is supported the tower on its shoulders. the ego cannot exist without power but thinks that it acts of its own accord.—– Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; our ego is the main cause of our illusion. it starts from ‘ I’ we say it ‘ AHAM VIRTI’ first of all ‘ I AM’ comes in mind which our mother thought. then other thoughts arises. this ‘ I ‘ is false and starting of ego. as we see the figure of ATLAS it looks that man is holding the earth and fells it too heavy . but figure is supported himself. like wise every work is going according Gods will and we put load on our-self .only by surrender or submission we can loose our ego.

What we have to do?

To enquire ,silently and deeply ,as the source of the mind ,the ‘I’ ,

alone is self-inquiry. ideas as ‘ I am that’ or I am not this’ are but aids.– Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; This is my blog on meditation. I want to help for meditation which is eternal peace. This is only way that I can do. If anybody wants to understand this art , you can send me messages and will help my best. Maharishi Ramana why I choose because in this time his words are like dew- drops . he was enlightened without any reading of scriptures, without going anywhere. His words came from depths of Samadhi.in these words he said that you should enquire in the mind, you should look inside where from words coming? you will understand after some practice that ‘I’ is the first thought where from other thoughts are arises. when you will trace that source ,in absence of thoughts you will find a new dimension of bliss which you are!!!

Mind control

These words are spoken by Maharishi Ramana from deep Samadhi.

Having thus explained the truth regarding the heart, Sri Ramana Muni , the best among the knowers of truth, speaking of method of controlling the mind.

” Men attached to sense- objects , ever obsessed by the thought find it difficult to control the mind because of the strength of their vasanas

Comment;  what is the need for mind- control? because in the stillness of mind we can understand our self which is bliss and nobody can explain this! when we want to practice the meditation we have to go inward. but we find that worldly- objects in the mind becomes our obstacles. as Jesus said,” your mind will follow your attachments like money, property, etc” so we find it hard to still the mind or control the mind.

As in Bhagwat Gita in 6th chapter sloka 4th. , When one does not get attached to the objects of sense-objects then he is said to have attained yoga.”

A question to Maharishi Ramana

Devotee; is it enough to practice of  inwardness or a saddaka should be thinking,” aham brahsmi”  ( I am that)?

Maharishi Ramana; the Main thing is the practice of inwardness. buddha bihksu consider it Nirwana’  absence of ‘ego’ but we said that when the mind emerges in the self which is source it is liberation. there is no need to say,’ Aham Brhamasmi’. because for saying this there should be,’ I’  which is ‘ego’. only kill the ‘ego’ it is enough!  and we Hindu says when the mind emerges in the self( Atman).  this is liberation. we can do it by searching the source of ‘ I’ thought. if ‘I’ would not be dissolved then there will not be ,’ sunayata’ then saddaka will go to sleep.

actually, our self remains forever. the body takes birth and it dies but our ‘ self’ is limitless. our problem is that we think to body-mind as ‘I’ .  in the language of Vedanta it is due to illusion.

Two types of learning Vedanta

As my guru st.Nikka Singh ji advised there is two types of learning. first of all, we have to understand the intellectual knowledge. first of all that what we want from this knowledge.  as we can see that in the world there is not anything which is permanent. our body which comes in this world is not permanent. we born and dies one day.  our body our mind also changeable, our relationship also is changeable. there is nothing in this world that remains forever. but our real self is permanent. there are so many examples that are written in Guruvani so many examples are given.

as a guest comes in the night and loves the family but the next day he left the house. it is like running on the roof which can not go longer.it is like stream of flowers, which are giving delight this time but the next day they will be a fad. it is like a young girl who will go to his husband’s house and no more in his father’s house. this world is like a lightning in the sky which is just for a moment. which is seen it is not permanent, but who sees that observer in this body is permanent. but sakshi or observer we can not see him. so to understand the knowledge of seer is real knowledge. according to Vadas vocabulary, it is called ‘ pera prakarti’ learning of ‘self’.this knowledge we can not explain by the intellect, we can take experience by searching inward.  for this devotion and meditation is needed. but which we explain that is verbally , we can explain by language, it is called ‘upara learning. first, our Gurus or saints explain ‘ upara knowledge’ by holy books, but in last books are not needed. which was thought to us that we find in our hearts that is called ‘ para prakirti’. it is a vast subject I will explain as my best.

note; if any help is needed then you can send a message.

To keep awake.

for meditation when we sit we are aware of our mind, we have to just observe our thoughts, not interpreting, not giving any ideas, what is our traditional knowledge we are not putting in it, just observation is enough. if we put our ideas then we are feeding the mind, but we are deleting the mind.

and in our activities as work, or doing something as washing dishes . so then we have to keep awake . when we do something with awareness then our mind can not run to much. there is a beauty in working then. suppose you are praying and you are not awake then you will be not inspired that day but when you are doing  wholly  with awareness then it has a great relaxation.
