Effortlessness and choiceless awareness is our real nature. if we can attain that state an abide in it, it is all right.but one can not reach it without effort, the effort of deliberate meditation. —- Maharishi Ramana.
Comments; Maharishi Ramana is telling us that our real nature of ‘I’ is effortless and choiceless. this stage is of bliss which we feel in the absence of thoughts. that is why. by any method of meditation or nam japa or by observation of breath like Vipassana or pranayama we slow down mind or thoughts.when bliss becomes effortless and choiceless that is evidence of our destination. up to this stage, there should be an effort in any way. but for this to attain this stage effort should be a must. without effort, you can not realize it. for example, you can imagine a bird. when it starts flying in beginning it wants more effort to fly. but when it reaches high in the sky it does not shake its feathers and fly very smoothly and without effort. this practice of meditation is like this.
I also feel in my practice. when I do more practice it becomes simple and I can enjoy bliss more and more but in less practice result becomes less. that time the words of Jesus become true somewhere in the bible I read this,” who have more they will be given more but who have little it will be taken back.
