Need for practice.

It is necessary both for you to strive and for the guru to help.—–Maharishi Ramana.

Comments;

Practice as suggested by your Guru is very helpful for meditation. first of all what is need for meditation? because our eternal desire is for peace. we humans want peace or we can say it is our desire from any worldly act we want peace knowingly or unknowingly. suppose I want sex what is the reason for it? I think by this I will be peaceful. our every desire money, big house, family, fame are connected by the demond of peace. but in my heart, I know that after getting these things I will be not peaceful? that peace or love only can be found in our hearts.no body can give us we have to find it by our effort and by real guidance of Guru. maharishi Ramana so many times tells us that your guru, your soul, your God are different words for one thing.

Here maharishi Ramana told us that it is necessary for you to strive and for the guru to help. Guru or lord is like a cloud full of water which every time helps you. if we are thirsty than we will find water but if we do not thirsty we pass by a fountain of freshwater.

Indian saints gave an example that if a horse is not thirsty and you take it to a stream where freshwater is flowing. the horse will not drink water forcibly. so they gave the example that if a follower is not interesting you can not teach him. so as I think the main thing is your starvation. Guru and God are ready every time.
