We should not sleep too much or go without it altogether, but sleep only moderately. To prevent too much sleep, we must try and have no thoughts. We must eat only sattvic food and that too in moderate measure and not indulge in too much physical activity. —–Maharishi Ramana.
Comments; Maharisi Ramana told his experience.He is a modern example of Rishes. The main thing is that for meditation we have very few thoughts. What we do with this practice, just as we observe our mind. When we trace the very root of our thought, then the process of deleting our thoughts starts. There is a barrier between us and self of the mind or thoughts. So to find bliss or ecstasy we have to slow down our chain of thoughts. I can clear it because I am doing too much practice. Sometimes I wonder that such a beauty lies in our hearts and that time I want to share it with somebody else that you can do it also. So Maharish gave his instructions that we have to eat sattvic food and not sleep too much and your physical activities should be limited. It is natural that in our sleep, we reduce our thoughts mind turn inward and we feel better, in meditation, mind take a rest and we do not need too much sleep.By too much physical work you will get tired and you will sleep and how can you do practice of meditation. This is what I think about it.
