Mind control

Men attached to objects and having endless thoughts due to the strength of latent tendencies find it difficult to control the mind. —— Maharishi Ramana.

Comment; What is the meaning of mind control? For meditation mind control very necessary. Meditation is just mind control. Because we are thinking everytime which is the wastage of our energy. So Maharishi Ramana indicates us that when we are attached with so many thoughts because we have Vasnas from previous lives and also in this life. That is why we find so many hard to control our minds. In meditation we have to still the mind to reach our being. This our self not body, mind is our self. The inner peace lies in our heart. But we are not in the movement of the present. Our mind remains in the past or future. We often think about the happening of the past which gives us pleasure and pain and according to our experience of the past we want to set our future. So our future comes from the past. Which is our pleasure we want that in our future, but we do not want our painful experience in the future. But it is not in our hands. If we start to do self-inquiry which is observation of the mind. Observation of mind without giving any idea, not forcing the mind, only just watching, then we will wonder that mind starts to slow down and by more practice we find eternal peace which was already there. But by too much thinking we were not able to experience it. This is our real nature which we want to experience otherwise we will never satisfy. This is the meaning of Maharishi Ramana.
