Men attached to objects and having endless thoughts due to the strength of latent tendencies find it challenging to control the mind.—- Maharishi Ramana. Comment; for meditation, control of the mind is essential. It is our mind which can not rest anytime. There are endless thoughts every time going on in our mind. We have to empty our mind to experience bliss. Bliss or eternal life is our real nature, but our mind never comes to rest or be still. So if we are attached too many objects, then we cannot experience the self or bliss or silence. And in our past lives vipassana, we find it difficult to control the mind.

Maharishi gave his ideas for mind control.it is our mind which thinks too much without any purpose endless thoughts. so it is wastage of energy. that is why saints suggest people practice of mediation .when mind stills whole of the world stills.
